Troy is a graduate of The Matha and Spencer Love School of Business of Elon University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Business Administration Management. Troy is also heavily involved with Suffolk Main Street Methodist church, teaching Sunday School classes and many other duties, as well as a Member of charitable organizations- Suffolk Ruritan Club and participates in events with Rise Against Hunger. He spends his spare time with his wife, Wendy and two children, boating, at the beach or on his tractor.

Karen Bittenbender joins Steward Partners after 13 years in the financial services industry, most recently with Wells Fargo Advisors. She has experience as both a retail banker and licensed securities professional, making her qualified to solve operational issues and support clients through multiple back-office channels. She enjoys assessing risk and helping clients reach their stated goals through a disciplined approach to investing.

A native of Virginia Beach, Karen lives in a three generation household and understands the challenges faced by the “sandwich generation” who find themselves raising children while caring for aging parents. As time permits, Karen enjoys gardening, helping coach her daughters’ softball team, volunteering at her school, traveling and going to the beach.

Karen currently holds a Series 7 and 63 license.
